Set into the hillside with beautiful uninterrupted views of the mountains and surrounding countryside, this unique, secluded rustic brick villa is well suited for lovers of peace and quiet.
Built to a high standard in 1997 by its present owner the villa features cavity walls, double glazed UPVC windows, low consumption electric heating, an antique entrance door, and a spectacular arched, antique oak beamed ceiling.
The main accommodation is situated on the upper level, and is reached from the drive by a flight of granite stone steps. It comprises of an entrance porch, hall with stairs down to lower level, and a sunny lounge/dining room with open fireplace. A fully fitted kitchen leads out onto a summer dining patio with steps down giving access to the grounds. The principal bedroom, located at the end of the hall, has built-in wardrobes and an en suite bathroom. There is a second bedroom with built-in wardrobe and a shower-room. Outside is a large south facing terrace with raised flower beds and old olive trees. The swimming pool, tiled with turquoise tiles, reflects the softness of its surroundings. There is also a covered barbeque and a puppy kennel and run.
On the lower is a self-contained apartment comprising of a lounge/dining room with an American kitchen which leads out onto a private terrace, two double bedrooms both with built-in wardrobes and a further bathroom. Large storeroom (42 m2 which could be transformed into a self contained studio apartment), utility room with dog bath and a separate three car carport.
The property is situated at the end of a 500 mt. track which passes through the olive groves. The land is planted with olive, avocados and citrus trees and is partly fenced. The area around the villa is completely fenced. A 80 mt. driveway with CCTV and automatic gates leads to the villa. Mains water, electricity and telephone are connected and there are also rights to water from a natural spring and a 40 m3 tank for irrigation.
The hamlet of La Alquería is situated between the villages of Alhaurín de la Torre and Alhaurín El Grande. In the hamlet there are two restaurant/bars, a general store, and an infant's school. School buses pass to take the older children to schools in Alhaurín de la Torre. There is also a children's play park and a municipal swimming pool open in the summer months. Lauro Golf Course (27 holes) is 5 minutes drive away and Alhaurín Golf and the Parador de Golf about 20 minutes drive. Also at 20 minutes drive are the beach and Málaga Airport. and at 25 minutes is the delightful city of Málaga.
ALHAURÍN DE LA TORRE
Alhaurín de la Torre is one of the biggest and most vibrant towns in the area, popular because of its location close to the city of Málaga. Many people who work in Málaga, live in the village which is rapidly expanding. Without a doubt and ironically, it will soon be bigger than its neighbour Alhaurín el Grande in size and population.
The village is set among large plantations of citrus and avocado trees and has lots to offer. Besides the variety of restaurants, shops and bars there is also a Golf Course ‘Lauro Golf' well known for its breathtaking panoramic views.
The biggest attraction for visitors to Alhaurín de la Torre is undoubtedly the gardens of El Retiro, which display an impressive variety of plant and wild life. Located close to the city and beach, the village has something to offer for everyone.
