Location: Alora, Spain
Big Cortijo for renovation and possible for a B&B.
Very large cortijo of 750 m2 situated in a beautiful green valley on a plot of 13,000 m2 covered with around 600 ecological orange and lemon trees.
Located ten minutes from Alora near the hamlet of "Las Mellizas" with a train station, restaurants and bars and 45 minutes from Malaga city and the airport.
The main building dates back to late nineteenth century and after renovation it may contain 8 bedrooms with bathroom.
There are many characteristic elements at present and after renovation the old Spanish character will be brought back into the building.
There are e.g. 5 old marble fireplaces, an old wine cellar in the basement, a large old attic, an old kitchen with wood oven.
There is also a next door house which was used by the staff. This section has been completely renovated and ready to move in to for the future owner.
Only the garage and the animal enclosures needs to be modernization here.
This building has been widely cited in the life of Anita Delgado, Princess of Kapurthala and her secretary and lover Ginés Rodriguez in the early twentieth century. It is worthwhile to find out whether they have actually lived there.
Everywhere there are beautiful views over the many trees that are in this valley.
There is irrigation water for the trees and mains water for the house, and electricity is connected.
After renovation this building would be a beautiful big house for a big family or a big B&B subject to obtaining the necessary licences.
Certainly a B&B would be welcome given the "Caminito del Rey" is now restored and there is a lot of tourism to discover the nature of "El Chorro" and "El Torcal".
