Torremolinos is a Spanish municipality located in the province of Malaga, on the Mediterranean coast of the autonomous community of Andalusia.
Torremolinos is one of the most multicultural municipalities in Andalusia. Here reside people of up to 130 different nationalities throughout the year, to which we should add those that happen in the city only seasons.
The main tourist attraction of Torremolinos are its beaches. The municipality has almost 7 kilometers of coastline, with its main beaches being Los Alamos, Playamar, El Bajondillo and La Carihuela. These are accessible urban beaches from the Paseo Marítimo. In general they are dark sand and moderate waves and have a high level of occupation during the summer months. The most popular beaches are El Bajondillo and La Carihuela, located in the urban center. The first is more than one kilometer long by 40 meters wide. The Carihuela has the same width approximately and about 2 kilometers in length. This beach is located in the old fishing district of the same name, where fried fish restaurants abound.
The municipality is crossed transversally by the highway of the Mediterranean and the N-340, that communicate it with other points of the Mediterranean coast and with the interior. Regarding public transport, in Torremolinos there are five stations on the C-1 line of Cercanías Málaga: Torremolinos, Montemar Alto, La Colina, El Pinillo and Los Álamos, which connect the municipality with Fuengirola, Benalmádena and Málaga, as well as with the Málaga-Costa del Sol airport and other municipalities in the interior of the metropolitan area of Málaga.
